Kick Drab To The Curb

Winter is the perfect time to improve your curb appeal. Whether you are trying to sell your house or just wish to improve the looks of your home or office space, there are several things that you can do during the colder months.  Take a walk to the curb of your property and look back. What do you see?

If your walkways, decks and driveways are looking dirty, they can be pressure washed to make them look new again. Now that the leaves are gone, check your gutters. They should be free of any dirt and debris. In fact, your siding and roof might need a good pressure wash too. While you are at it, give your outdoor furniture and planters a thorough cleaning. Get rid of your dingy welcome mat and any tattered lawn flags and replace them with something bright and colorful.

Do you have low hanging limbs or branches that have broken? You will want to get those down and not just for curb appeal. A high wind could turn those limbs into a safety hazard. You should especially take a look at all of the trees around your property to ensure that they are healthy.

Next, pick up all the twigs and get rid of any weeds from your flower beds. This is the perfect time to put in some new mulch. Mulch keeps roots consistently warm in winter which helps your plants. It also is an instant boost to your curb appeal.

Lastly, just because it’s winter doesn’t mean you can’t have a beautiful yard. There are many colorful flowers and shrubs, like pansies, winter jasmine, and holly, that you can add to your beds and pots for instant curb appeal.
