Serving places across Upstate SC: Five Forks, Simpsonville, Mauldin, Greer, Taylors and more.
Great outdoor spaces don’t happen by accident – they’re designed. Our landscape design process blends clear 2D/3D visuals, climate-smart plant choices, and drainage-aware grading so your yard looks great and works in real life. For neighborhoods in Upstate SC, we plan around newer builds and sun exposure; in established areas, we protect roots and sightlines. Every plan balances beauty, function, and maintenance – so you know what it will cost, how it will age, and how it will be installed. Approvals are HOA-friendly, materials are specified, and phasing is easy if you prefer to build in stages.
Function: Clear use zones, access, and grading that make the space work day-to-day.
Flow: Paths, views, and water routes planned together so people and runoff move the right way.
Longevity: Buildable details and materials matched to site and climate for lower upkeep and longer life.
Consult → Design → Build → Care
Walk site; map sun/soil/drainage; align goals, budget, and constraints.
Set grading and flow; select plants/materials; place features; define timeline and estimate.
Prep beds and amend soil; set grades; install plants/paths/features; verify irrigation and cleanup.
Hand off watering and seasonal tasks; schedule check-ins; stay on call for long-term health.
From foothill slopes in Greer to HOA-shaped frontage in Five Forks, our landscape design Upstate SC approach solves real site conditions across Simpsonville and Mauldin as well. We start with drainage and grading (swales, downspout routing, correct bed depths) so water moves away from foundations, then specify climate-smart plants that thrive in clay-influenced soils. Scaled 2D plans with optional 3D views confirm patio sizes, paths, privacy screens, and lighting before you build. Every plan is HOA-ready with labeled materials, clear quantities, and phasing options—so installation is predictable, maintenance is manageable, and curb appeal lasts through Upstate heat and summer storms.
Landscape Design. Start with a plan that aligns look, function, and budget, then layer in execution. Design clarifies where water should go and what gets built where—so drainage solutions are sized correctly from day one, hardscapes (patios, paths, walls, fire features) fit real circulation, plant & mulch installation matches sun/soil, and the lawn finishes cleanly with sod installation where immediate cover makes sense.
EXCELLENT Based on 79 reviews Judy BuchJuly 6, 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Ed Solomon took care of an erosion problem I had in my side yard. It was easy to talk to him and he understood what needed to be done. He sent landscapers who worked in hot temperatures in June, and did an extraordinary job. I am extremely pleased with the outcome. I recommend Solomon's Landscape & Design company to anyone who could use expert help with their landscape. Christen ConciniMay 15, 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Ed and his team did a great job with brining my yard back to life! The Solomons crew did a great job, worked hard and were responsive to requests. The office was responsive to my phone calls. I plan on calling them next year for more yard service. Highly recommend them. Ruth MullisApril 2, 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Triming of shrubs and mulch installed. Two new mulch beds added. Solomon’s Landscape and Design did a beautiful job making our yard look beautiful! Danyel TorgersonFebruary 20, 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Ed recently came to our house to give us a quote for some yard projects we were considering doing. He was friendly, flexible with our schedule, arrived on time, took note of our goals and any concerns we had, and provided us with several different options which was helpful. We ended up not moving forward with the projects right now, but based on this initial meeting, would consider working with Solomon's Landscape & Design in the future. Paul McCloudFebruary 6, 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I met with Mr. Solomon this past week to discuss future plans. He was not pushy at all. He definitely knows his plants and grass. He had some great ideas. Some of those ideas will be long term goals and others will be starting soon. Cameron McneelyFebruary 4, 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Solomon’s landscaping has the experience to do the job right. They can design an entire new look for your house planting trees or bushes and show you what everything will look like in a photo before any decisions are made. The owner takes pride in doing the right thing, I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my projects!
Landscape design is the art and science of planning and creating outdoor spaces to enhance their aesthetic appeal, functionality, and sustainability. It involves the arrangement of plants, structures, and other features to suite your wants and desires.
Benefits include improved curb appeal, increased property value, enhanced outdoor living spaces that entice you to spend more time in.
The duration varies depending on the project’s complexity and scope. It can take anywhere from a day to a few weeks, including initial consultations, and design development.
Costs vary based on the size of the area, the complexity of the design, type of design as well as type and quantities of materials. Depending on the type of design from simple photo realistic “photoshopping” to a full 3D rendering, on average designs can range from $2,000 to $250.
While DIY projects are possible, a professional landscape designer brings expertise, creativity, and experience to ensure a cohesive and high-quality result that meets your needs, budget, and ensuring your landscape will fit your space for years to come.
Yes we can. The design process is the very start of the project. We can help curate your yard oasis. Once we complete this, this design is yours to keep and do as you wish. While you can use any landscape contractor that is capable of doing the work, Solomon’s Landscape would be in the position to know all of the details of your specific project.
Consider factors like sunlight exposure, soil type, moisture levels, and the specific microclimate of the area. Additionally, think about the plant’s growth habit, mature size, and maintenance needs to ensure they are suitable for the space. Keep in mind that what the label says is about half of the size of the plant.
